Malaysia, Saudi Arabia still in talks on Covid-19 vaccines for umrah

MySejahtera will have a new feature to enable individuals who need a booster shot to apply for it from next month – in meeting the condition set by other countries, including for performing umrah and haj. – AFP pic, October 20, 2021.

THE Malaysian and Saudi governments are still discussing about which types of Covid-19 vaccines are allowed for individuals who want to perform the umrah in the kingdom, said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin. “The ongoing discussion is to avoid vaccine discrimination, as we have found that all the Covid-19 vaccines are safe and effective.”
