Malaysian Rubber Glove Manufacturers Association has cut the output target by 3.6% this year.
That’s forced the group to cut its output target for this year by 3.6% to 188 billion pieces of gloves. The country has been facing manpower issues since Mahathir Mohamad was elected prime minister last year on a platform of cutting the economy’s reliance on cheap, foreign labour. The government has been imposing stricter labour requirements and has cracked down on foreign workers without permits.
Hire local, give them proper wages.
These glove companies make millions in profits, yet they insist on foreign labour whom they pay peanuts. If they pay better, perhaps locals will work for them, and reducing reliance on foreign labour.
