Malacca BN says CM’s authority will not be challenged via confidence vote

A report has alleged that Malacca Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali could be facing a confidence vote when the state assembly convenes later this month. – Facebook pic, July 9, 2022.

MALACCA Umno Liaison Committee chairman Ab Rauf Yusoh yesterday assured the people of the state that their mandate would be respected and that no confidence vote would be held to challenge the authority of Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali.“The article is malicious and aims to disrupt Malacca’s political stability. As the Malacca BN chairman, I will never betray the trust given by the people of Malacca,” he said in a statement last night.

The report alleged Sulaiman could face a confidence vote when the state assembly convened on July 25. Rauf called on all BN leaders at all levels not to be influenced by the allegations and to remain focused to achieve victory in the next general election. – Bernama, July 9, 2022.
