PETALING JAYA: A local green furniture maker managed to break into the US and European markets via the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) Export Promotion Programme, says Datuk Lim Ban Hong.

The Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister said One Tech Sdn Bhd, an SME in Ampang, suffered a decline in orders during the initial outbreak of Covid-19 last year.

Lim said One Tech, a pioneer in green furniture manufacturing using sustainable and reclaimed materials, entered international markets by selling its products on Amazon and other major digital marketing platforms. He said the concept of recycling old wood from old buildings, reprocessing it and adding new design flair is one example of the company's innovation.

"I am proud that the initiatives and incentives by the ministry have helped the company expand to where it is today.
