: A lorry driver was sentenced to 20 years in jail and ordered to be given 20 strokes of the rotan after losing the appeal to set aside his conviction on two counts of raping his sister-in-law.
However, the court allowed the 33-year-old man's appeal to reduce his imprisonment term from 15 years to 10 years in jail for each count. The accused was found guilty and sentenced to a total of 30 years imprisonment and 20 strokes of the rotan by the Sessions Court on July 3, 2019 for raping the 14-year-old girl on two occassions in a house in Pasir Puteh, Kelantan in Feb 2018 and April 19, 2018.
