: Kerajaan Malaysia menerusi Kementerian Pengangkutan dan Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd hari ini memeterai perjanjian operasi baharu selama 45 tahun sehingga 11 Feb, 2069, kata Menteri Pengangkutan Anthony Loke Siew Fook.
“Beberapa perkara penting dalam operasi baharu itu ialah kita memberi kelonggaran kepada MAHB untuk melabur dari segi pembinaan kapasiti dan menaik taraf lapangan terbang, berdasarkan model pemulihan pelaburan,“ katanya kepada media selepas majlis menandatangani perjanjian itu, di sini, hari ini. “Jadi kita perlu menaik tarafnya secepat mungkin supaya kita boleh memanfaatkan potensi pelancongan,” katanya.
“Kita juga akan menubuhkan Dana Pembangunan Lapangan Terbang yang merupakan sebahagian daripada perjanjian operasi itu yang mana mekanisme tersebut akan diusahakan oleh Kementerian Pengangkutan bersama Kementerian Kewangan dan ia tertakluk untuk lapangan terbang baharu dan kerja menaik taraf,” kata Loke.
