Lockdown-breaching NZ health minister quits

NEW Zealand’s health minister today resigned after a public backlash over his Covid-19 lockdown breach and his criticism of the civil servant responsible for the country’s world-leading virus response. David Clark was already under a cloud after breaking lockdown rules in April, and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, who faces an election in September, admitted that his presence has become a distraction.
