Bishop Bernard Paul stated that life gives back to us whatever we say and do. In other words, our life is a reflection of our words and actions.1) We are Created to Participate.4) We are sent as Creative Participators.We learn from the sciences of anthropology and sociology, that the seed of participation is present in individuals, families and marriages. In all of us, there is a sacred and social call to organise, support and strengthen, and a duty to seek the common good.
We participate to create: We do this by our cooperation in the creative work of God, our contribution in making the world a better place, and in our mission at building the Kingdom of God. This demands certain fundamentals on our part: -- To encourage initiatives that do not replace or destroy smaller communities and individual ventures, contribute to social well-being, supplement the initiatives in unjust structures; and direct, urge, restrain, regulate unjust activities. The seed of participation is not good enough until these fundamentals are at play.
-- When we take notice of what is happening and act on it, then creative participation is taking place; we are responding to the Holy Spirit, to the cry that needs our attention. We are sent as creative participators: For this to take place, we need Kingdom Spirituality; which is a response to a call to a deep sense of Togetherness. This calls us to be:
-- Together as builders of God’s Kingdom — transform this place into the new heaven and the new earth. The PMPTA provides a sacred space for delegates to listen to the Holy Spirit. What is the Holy Spirit saying through the addresses to be presented by the three bishops, the diocesan pre-synodal reports and the Spiritual Conversations that will take place? Fr Jude then quoted the Book of Proverbs : “Make your ear attentive to wisdom and incline your heart to understanding” stating that it is not only important to listen to others but also to really understand them.
