KOTA KINABALU: A motivational talk to bring the public out of negative thoughts and low self-values is scheduled to take place here on Oct 1.

Organised by the Lions Club International, the programme which is to also address the seemingly increasing number of suicides and mental health woes among Sabahans will feature a speaker known mainly in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan - Goh Siok Boon.

"Goh charges quite a huge sum for an appearance but for this event, he had agreed to donate all the profits made from the sales of tickets for charity works," she said in a press conference here on Tuesday ."We will use the money to fund two projects - a coral planting by JCI Luyang and a mammogram programme for rural women," she said.

"This could be due to stress and pressures of life following two years of the Covid-19 pandemic," she said, adding that Goh’s objective in choosing the topic was to motivate and inspire his audience.
