PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a Level 2 heatwave warning for Pokok Sena in Kedah.
In a weather update on its official X account at 4.30pm Saturday , MetMalaysia also said that 22 other locations throughout the country were at the Level 1 heatwave warning stage. A Level 1 heatwave warning status indicates daily maximum temperatures of between 35°C and 37°C, and Level 2 is between 37°C and 40°C, for three consecutive days.Other areas in the peninsula affected by the Level 1 heatwave warning are Gua Musang in Kelantan and Raub, Pahang.
In Sabah, three areas are under Level 1 - Tuaran, Tenom and Beaufort - while in Sabah, Limbang is affected. The public can visit MetMalaysia heatwave status page at https://www.met.gov.my/en/iklim/status-cuaca-panas/ for more information.
