| This is an issue which I have taken up in the past. Talking about too many public holidays may seem a trivial matter but it isn’t.
In 2010, there are a total of 48 national and regional public holidays, according to the official almanac. These are gazetted by Putrajaya or the respective state governments, meaning it is mandatory to observe them. “I hope the additional holiday would benefit those celebrating the occasion. It will also enable those celebrating Christmas to return home earlier,” he said.
“I don’t recall Shafie declaring Dec 24 as an additional public holiday last year. I’m concerned about the underlying political motive to suddenly do so this year. My point is this. If I, as a Christian, is prepared to forgo public holidays on an important date related to my religion, will those of other faith do likewise?
For example, as a Catholic and a Chinese, I will be very happy if Good Friday and the first day of Chinese New Year are national holidays. I am prepared to forgo even Christmas.
misleading lah you, jepun is the most with public holiday. dont kira the state one, if u add up pun not as many as 16 days confirmed in JP. u ni in msia or located elsewhere but talking about msia? misleading totally.

F**k you. Every holidays are significant. Less productivity my a**
Increase salaries significantly before mouthing off.
EXACTLY!!!!!! Productivity is bad in Malaysia!!!!!! Too many public holidays 😰
We have insignificant public holidays?
Workers these days are allowed to die, but must not fall sick, or enjoy holidays.
It is important not to impose one’s view on others. YOLO. Pertinent to this article is about increasing productivity. That can be achieved through better education, deployment of technologies, better competence, accountability and integrity.
Which holidays you had presumed Insignificant that became Unsignificantly?
Kindly refrain from politizing public holidays.
We need the Public holiday simply because hari2 dah balik lambat, pstu kat rumah kena buat kerja lagi boss nak esok, tengah MC pun kena bukak email jawab email bukak laptop, cuti pun tak serupa cuti. Malaysian bosses are horrible and does not promote work life balance.
Insignificant? Who dafuq are you to call a public holiday 'insignificant'?
Disagree. Y should we?
Careful now.
