TEL AVIV: Seramai 30 tentera briged payung terjun Pasukan Tentera Israel mengingkari arahan Perdana Menteri Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu untuk melakukan persiapan melancarkan serangan darat di Rafah.
Alasan mereka tidak mahu akur dengan perintah tersebut kerana sudah terlalu penat menghadapi pertempuran yang belum berkesudahan. “Mereka diperintahkan untuk melakukan persiapan sebelum serangan darat ke Rafah dilancarkan. Namun, mereka menolak kerana merasakan tidak mampu meneruskan pertempuran di Gaza setelah bertempur selama lebih tujuh bulan.Disoal ramai anggota tentera yang membelot arahan Netanyahu, Pejabat Angkatan Tentera Darat berkata, pihaknya tidak akan memaksa mana-mana anggota tentera untuk turut serta dalam operasi serangan.
Jelasnya, Rafah merupakan lokasi paling sukar dan mencabar untuk bertempur, ditambah lagi dengan bantahan Mesir dan Amerika Syarikat terhadap operasi tersebut. Untuk rekod, ini bukan kali pertama situasi sama berlaku kerana awal April lalu, sebanyak 100 tentera wanita Israel menolak arahan Netanyahu untuk mewajibkan penyertaan bersama pasukan IOF.
