PETALING JAYA: Sebanyak 90 buah atau 86.54 peratus daripada 104 institusi pengajian tinggi (IPT) telah mendapat keputusan berdaya saing manakala sebanyak 14 buah atau 13.46 peratus mendapat keputusan berdaya maju bagi Penarafan Bersepadu Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Malaysia (Setara) 2022.

Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi memaklumkan, sebanyak 158 buah atau 90.29 peratus daripada 175 kolej mendapat keputusan berdaya saing manakala sebanyak 17 atau 9.71 peratus kolej mendapat keputusan berdaya maju untuk Sistem Penilaian Kualiti dan Kesetaraan Kolej Swasta 2022.

“Pencapaian yang memberangsangkan ini membuktikan usaha berterusan kementerian dalam menyediakan pendidikan tinggi yang berkualiti dan berimpak tinggi kepada pelajar. Menurut Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi, pihak Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi telah membuat pembaharuan pelaksanaan Setara dan MyQUEST 2022 dengan hanya membahagikan kepada dua kategori sahaja berbanding enam kategori sebelum ini iaitu berdaya saing dan berdaya maju.

“Ia dilihat sebagai salah satu pendekatan yang adil dan realistik kepada IPT memandangkan data yang dinilai meliputi 2019, 2020 dan 2021 yang merupakan tahun-tahun negara dilanda pandemik Covid-19. Oleh yang demikian, keputusan penilaian Penarafan IPT 2022 hanya mengguna pakai data 2021,” katanya.
