MELBOURNE: Polis Australia menahan ratusan peserta protes anti perintah berkurung di Melbourne dan Sydney sehingga menyebabkan tujuh anggota polis dikejarkan ke hospital akibat rusuhan itu.
Ratusan anggota polis menggunakan penyembur lada di Melbourne untuk menyuraikan himpunan melibatkan lebih 4,000 orang. Sementara di Sydney, sejumlah besar anggota polis berjaya menghalang kumpulan kecil peserta protes daripada berhimpun. Polis Victoria berkata, pihaknya menahan seramai 218 orang di Melbourne dengan 236 dikenakan denda dan tiga peserta lain ditahan kerana mengasari pihak polis.
