Lawyer Shafee to lead Najib’s SRC review bid

Jailed former prime minister Najib Razak’s review application to reverse his conviction and sentence for the misappropriation of RM42 million in SRC funds has been fixed for case management at the Federal Court on October 21. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, September 28, 2022.

The former prime minister’s lawyer, Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, said this during Najib’s another SRC case management relating to three money laundering charges involving RM27 million of SRC funds before High Court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan today. On July 26, Najib discharged with immediate effect Messrs Shafee & Co from representing him in his final appeal against his conviction and sentence for the RM42 million SRC case and appointed Zaid Ibrahim Suflan TH Liew & Partners as his new legal representative.
