KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 — Youth coalition Sekretariat Solidariti Rakyat have raised nearly RM93,000 over 24 hours to pay for the legal fees of 31 of its activists who were arrested for their part in a candlelight vigil last week.
“We are touched by the support given to us where we have received RM92,800 in such a short period of time, which is in one day. On August 20, 31 individuals were taken into custody during a candlelight vigil held in remembrance for those who died from Covid-19 at Dataran Merdeka.
