Azalan’s next door neighbour, Shafiee Salleh, 62, said: “We would be competing with each other to see who would arrive earliest at the surau for Subuh prayers.“I have known him since I moved here 22 years ago, and he has never missed out on praying at the surau.“His family likes to cook nasi Arab, which he would often give to me.
“And on the day Azalan left for Turkey, for the entire day, I wore a shirt that he had given me in the past,” he said.
