PETALING JAYA: Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) was bustling with people queuing to get last-minute tickets to balik kampung for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Several long lines were seen at the ticket counters while the surrounding crowd with large luggage and bags was waiting for the announcement on the arrival of their buses.Malaysians took the opportunity over the long weekend festive holidays to return to their hometowns earlier to spend a longer break with their loved ones after two years of lockdowns.

“This year’s preparation for balik kampung was a bit chaotic due to my work schedule,” said a 23-year-old cleaner, who wanted to be known as Hafiydiniy. Hafiydiniy said his plan to balik kampung got delayed and that the journey back home took him almost 24 hours.
