VIENTIANE: Laos officials have vowed to continue to fully support China's fight against Covid-19 and learn from China's experiences in preventing the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong met with the Lao People's Revolutionary Party politburo member and Vientiane mayor Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, and Deputy Minister of Public Security Kongthong Phongvichit, and talked with Laos Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith by telephone from Wednesday to Friday, thanking the Laos side for hosting the Special Asean-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting on Coronavirus Disease and the fifth Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in...

The Laos officials said the Lao side feels heartfully grateful of the trust and support from China to host the two meetings, which, under the bilateral efforts from the Lao and Chinese sides and the proactive collaboration from the Asean members, have achieved the expected results and accomplish a complete success, strengthened the unity and cooperation between Asean and China, and increased Laos' international and regional status.

Ambassador Jiang said the Lao side has fully prepared and successfully held the two foreign ministers' meetings, sending a positive message that China and Asean countries will join hands to respond to the epidemic, protect the people's health, and promote exchanges and cooperation.
