Langkawi hotels offer up to 70% discounts

Kedah/Perlis Branch of Malaysian Association of Hotels says Langkawi is safe to visit and that people should take advantage of the discounts offered. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, February 16, 2020.

HOTEL operators in Langkawi have agreed to offer between 30% and 70% discounts on room rates to draw tourists in the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak. Kedah/Perlis Branch of Malaysian Association of Hotels vice-president Razmi Rahmat said 45 hotel operators will offer the discounts to reduce the impact of the decline in tourist arrivals and cancellation of hotel bookings by Chinese tourists and locals.
