KUALA LUMPUR: Keputusan Bank Negara Malaysia mengurangkan kadar dasar semalaman sebanyak 25 mata asas kepada 2.75% – kadar yang tidak pernah ditetapkan sejak 11 Mac 2011 – mengejutkan pasaran, berbeza daripada jangkaan ramai sekurang-kurangnya OPR dikekalkan pada kadar semasa oleh mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Dasar Monetari pertama tahun ini.
Justeru, keputusan dasar BNM semalam langkah awal untuk memastikan trajektori pertumbuhan di tengah-tengah kestabilan harga. Nur Raisah berkata mengikut pandangan mereka, pertumbuhan dijangkakan perlahan kepada 4.1% tahun ini daripada jangkaan 4.4% yang dibuat tahun lepas memandangkan pertumbuhan penggunaan swasta, yang menjadi pemacu utama pertumbuhan sejak 2018, berkurangan dengan ketiadaan pemindahan fiskal kepada isi rumah.
“Bagaimanapun, jika data menunjukkan lebih buruk, maka BNM mungkin mengurangkan lagi kadar itu,” katanya kepada Bernama.
