Kuala Kangsar OCPD Asst Comm Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob said the compound notice was issued for disobeying the SOP under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act and other related laws that are being enforced.
“What was claimed is not true. We have never issued a compound notice as alleged,” ACP Omar said in a statement Saturday .In the video, it claimed that some needy folk were unable to get adequate help and the police had issued a compound notice to an individual for aiding the needy. “We believe it is due to a misunderstanding and dissatisfaction by the person who was slapped with the compound notice for disobeying the SOP,” ACP Omar said.
He said the police always welcomed the cooperation of the public to provide assistance and help with observing the peace.“We also advise the public not to spread any unverified news on social media as it is an offence under the Communications and Multimedia Act,” he said, adding that information can be channeled to the Kuala Kangsar police via its “Polis Kuala Kangsar” Facebook page or by calling 05-776 2222.
