BATU GAJAH: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) will provide bus services in the event floods affect train routes, said Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar.Train services were running as normal currently and KTMB was monitoring the situation to ensure that its trains could operate safely, he told reporters after officiating

Kamarudin presented 226 graduates from the academy with their Malaysian Skills Certificates and KTMB certificates.

On Dec 1, KTMB announced operational changes to train services departing Tumpat, Wakaf Bharu and Pasir Mas stations in Kelantan, following floods in the east coast. Last week, the National Disaster Management Agency issued a warning of a second wave of floods expected from Dec 25 to 26. Kamarudin also announced that 77,382 out of 143,986 KTMB tickets on offer in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2020, were sold out for journeys from Jan 22 to 24, and 27 to 28. — Bernama
