MELAKA: Former political allies-turned-nemesis locked horns over the issue of face mask to an extent that one of them lodged a police report.

Kota Laksamana assemblyman Low Chee Leong lodged a police report against Melaka agriculture, agro-based, entrepreneur development and cooperative committee chairman Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee for not wearing a face mask when he went around to meet traders at a flea market at Tun Fatimah jetty here on Sunday .

“We can't have a different set of laws for commoners and politicians and as a lawmaker, he should show a good example. He also lodged a police report against a community leader from Bandar Hilir, for not wearing a face mask at a public area on Saturday based on a picture he obtained from a news report.

Norhizam, who was then the state Deputy DAP chairman, quit the party after citing that he was unhappy with his former party’s leadership before joining Parti Bersatu Pribumi, a few months ago.
