Kota Kinabalu city deserves better planning

Despite presentations made by professional developers claiming that Kota Kinabalu would become the next Dubai or New York, it seems that the city is becoming a messy jumble of poorly designed buildings in the wrong places.

There was a rumour that an additional RM150 million unnecessarily was wasted in changing the roof from its original design of Bajau-Suluk boats to the present shipyard appearance because it resembled the flag of a political party.The 28-story State Secretariat building, which could have had just 6 or 8 stories, should have been built in front of Likas roundabout, with 10 acres of shallow water to be reclaimed.

Furthermore, the only Ceremonial/Protocol entrance to the Pacific City was cut through, making it difficult for traffic to pass through the Kota Kinabalu City. It appears that there is no plan to move the petrol stations outside the city - remaining inside is very dangerous. It has happened around the world from time to time.

Don't forget the poor traffic planning and worse road condition especially road near KK City Council. Its like the city manage by Town Council.. 😄😄😄

Squatters around KK City is the major problem. Does Dubai has any squatter like Pulau Gaya, Suang Parai, Kg Sembulan, Kg Tg Aru, Inanam, Kolombong, Tuaran Bypass, Sulaman, Sepanggar, Petagas? No kan..DBKK needs to build low cost flat and manage it
