Rakuten Kobo has announced that its latest eReader, the Kobo Elipsa 2E, is slated to arrive in Malaysia in another

, the newer model comes packed with several improvements such as a faster processor, improved front light, Bluetooth support, as well as the ability to customise font styles.

Like its predecessor, the new Kobo Elipsa 2E boasts a large 10.3-inch E Ink Carta 1200 touchscreen, which offers 227 PPI, 1404 x 1872 pixel resolution and Dark Mode support. It is also slightly slimmer but at the same time heavier, coming in at 7.5 mm and 390 g respectively. For night time reading, the eReader features Kobo’s ComfortLight PRO that can automatically adjust brightness and colour temperature.

Under its hood is a faster 2 GHz processor, along with 32 GB of internal storage for storing notes, documents, eBooks, and audiobooks. Connectivity-wise, on top of coming with dual-band WiFi support, the Elipsa 2E now comes with Bluetooth support therefore allowing you to connect compatible audio devices such as earbuds, headphones and speakers. Additionally, there’s the TypeGenius feature which lets you personalise the onboard interface with 12 different fonts and over 50 font styles.

Included is the brand’s latest pen accessory, the Kobo Stylus 2, that can be magnetically attached on top of the device. This is a much appreciated improvement over the original Elipsa, which required you to own the SleepCover accessory if you wish to store its included stylus. However, keep in mind that the Stylus 2 does not support wireless charging, so you will need to connect it to a power source via USB-C if you wish to top up its battery.

The Elipsa 2E will retail for RM 2,019, and is slated to arrive in Malaysia on 19 April 2023 onwards. Pre-orders for the device are available now via Rakuten Kobo’s official online stores on
