PETALING JAYA: Police have warned Demi Negara, a movement advocating checks and balances, against proceeding with a planned rally this Saturday.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said the “Rakyat Lawan Anwar” organiser would be breaking the law if it proceeded with the gathering as it had failed to obtain the consent of the land owner, Perbadanan Putrajaya, as required under the Peaceful Assembly Act .“Yes, they submitted a notice to the police on June 14 which complies with the five-day requirement before assembly.
