PETALING JAYA: Midfielder Zhafri Yahya is not averse to playing in a new position for Kuala Lumpur if that is what coach Bojan Hodak insists.

Zhafri has been asked to play as a winger after Hadin Azman sustained an injury and he feels he has adapted well to the new role.“But I think I am adapting well. I have no problem following the tactical planning of the coach although I am a midfielder.

“I only played occasionally as a winger in the Presidents Cup and also a few times back in 2018 but it’s different this season.“But I am enjoying it as I feel I have more freedom to move around whereas I need to be more disciplined in planning my moves if I am playing as a midfielder. The 27-year-old from Meru, Selangor, helped Kuala Lumpur become Premier League champions in 2017 and featured in two Super League campaigns in 2018 and 2019.“It is an open fight among all teams in Group A .

“Our hope is to defend our unbeaten home record this season and hopefully this will help us stay as long as possible in the competition,” he added. Kuala Lumpur finished sixth in the Super League this year. The City Boys are currently second in the group behind Sara-wak with one win and one draw.
