KUALA LUMPUR: The continued uncertainties over China's economic growth prospects and the recent geopolitical crisis have increased US dollar demand as a safe-haven asset, said Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) deputy governor Adnan Zaylani Mohamad Zahid.

He said the community should not be swayed by sentiments instigated by certain parties who called on them to boycott the by-election. He made the remarks after attending the briefing session on the Financing Scheme for Indian Community Entrepreneurs /SPUMI Goes Big by the National Entrepreneur Group Economic Fund here.

In another development, Ramanan, who is also the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Deputy Minister, reminded the Indian community to take advantage of the SPUMI Goes Big initiative, which has received an additional allocation of RM30mil to empower entrepreneurs.
