Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun sentenced Mohd Fadzil Benedict, 25, after he pleaded guilty to violating Rule 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2020.He was accused of intentionally being in an area declared a Covid-19 contagious zone, without police permission.

During mitigation, Lim said his client is a mechanic but has been left with no job following the MCO. Adibah, however, said it is not reasonable for the accused to go out and that his action did not help in breaking the chain of Covid-19 infection.

This better then putting people in prison spreading the virus or canning to humiliate in public.
