PETALING JAYA: Dua ahli politik saingan sependapat hari ini dalam mempersoalkan pihak berkuasa Mesir berhubung kematian bekas presiden negara itu yang dipilih secara demokratik, Mohamad Morsi.
“Kami menggesa pihak berkuasa di Mesir dan agensi antarabangsa untuk melakukan siasatan bebas dan menyeluruh terhadap punca kematian Morsi, termasuk penjagaan beliau ketika di bawah pengasingan bersendirian selama ini,” kata Hadi dalam mesej ucapan takziah terhadap kematian Morsi. “Masyarakat antarabangsa perlu mengambil tindakan terhadap kerajaan Mesir yang bertanggungjawab terhadap kematian Morsi jika siasatan antarabangsa yang adil, teliti dan telus mengesahkan kematian itu adalah akibat kegagalan pihak berkuasa menyediakan penjagaan perubatan yang diperlukan untuk Morsi,” kata pemimpin DAP itu dalam satu kenyataan.
Mereka “meletakkannya di dalam pengasingan bersendirian … mereka menahan ubat dan memberinya makanan menjijikkan … mereka tidak memberikan hak asasi manusia yang paling asas,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan yang dipetik Reuters.
