In GE14 in 2018, the former Johor mentri besar stood in Pasir Gudang and lost to Pakatan Harapan’s Hassan Abdul Karim from PKR by a 24,726-vote majority. Speaking to the media after the launch of the new D’Rimba Umno branch here yesterday, Khaled said Pasir Gudang Umno had submitted his name to contest in the constituency.
It is learnt that Pasir Gudang Umno Youth chief Noor Azleen Ambros is among those named as candidates for the seat.On a separate matter, Khaled said any decision with regard to cooperation with Parti Bangsa Malaysia should only be made after GE15.“Right now, the focus is on our respective parties,” he said in reaction to questions about the status of PBM, which applied to join Barisan in July.
