KEDAH mencatatkan peningkatan kes penipuan dalam talian sebanyak 82 peratus yang melibatkan kerugian berjumlah RM5 juta dari tempoh 1 Januari hingga 30 Jun lepas berbanding tempoh sama pada 2021.
“Saya sendiri berasa hairan apabila ada antara mangsa yang berpendidikan tinggi turut ditipu dalam aktiviti ‘scam’ ini. Di sini, saya ingin menegaskan bahawa polis sama sekali tidak akan menemu duga atau meminta pengenalan diri mana-mana individu melalui panggilan telefon. Beliau turut meminta mana-mana individu yang telah ditipu dan melibatkan kerugian wang supaya segera melaporkannya kepada polis bagi membolehkan tindakan susulan diambil dengan lebih cepat.
“Bagi kes penipuan haji pula, polis telah membuka kertas siasatan yang melibatkan tiga kes iaitu satu di daerah Kuala Muda dan dua di Kota Setar yang melibatkan jumlah kerugian RM48,000. Ketiga-tiga kes ada kaitan dengan penipuan haji dari agensi yang sama di Kuala Lumpur baru-baru ini,” katanya.
