Pengarah Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Johor, Razali Wagiman berkata, kegiatan itu terbongkar susulan operasi khas Unit Siasatan dan Risikan JPJ Johor di sekitar bandar Sungai Rengit, Johor Bahru jam 12.45 tengah hari semalam.
Beliau berkata, siasatan mendapati kegiatan membawa kereta sapu tanpa permit itu didalangi warga asing dari Bangladesh dan Nepal dengan operasi mengambil penumpang sejak tiga tahun lalu. Katanya, pemilik kereta warga asing itu dikesan memajak kepada setiap pelanggan yang juga rakan senegara dengan harga RM100 sebulan.
Katanya, pihaknya percaya semua kereta itu dibekalkan seorang warga tempatan berusia 60-an yang menawarkan kereta sakit dengan harga RM2,000 hingga RM3,500 sebuah.
