KERAJAAN negeri sentiasa memastikan kilang yang beroperasi di Kedah memenuhi syarat-syarat yang diitetapkan, khususnya berkaitan pengurusan sisa bahan kimia dan buangan sisa kilang. Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir berkata, kejadian pencemaran bahan kimia di Pasir Gudang, Johor menjadi iktibar kepada Kedah agar berwaspada dan mengambil langkah tegas jika ada pelanggaran syarat oleh pihak industri.
