In our house there are cats with outdoor privileges and cats who stay indoors. Tic Tac believes this discrimination is a grievous sin, and she has been militant in advocating for change.
Honestly, I know there are cats who go for walks, but they're the kind of cat who channels their inner dog. They enjoy meeting strangers and are placid about new experiences. Talking it over, we figured that she would hate the harness, but agree to it if she understood it meant going outside. Speed was of the essence.
Tic Tac's tail was at pufferfish. Her eyes were huge, and she sucked in quick breaths. She was also burning hot, all her toe beans flaming against my skin. But then her purr started up. A panting, half scared purr, but a purr nevertheless.Tic Tac plastered herself to the ground, and then sniffed about excitedly in the leaf litter. The purr became louder. Her eyes were like saucers, drinking in the strangeness of the night.
Since that first outing, we have broadened our scope. We've gone out in daylight, and with Target. We've explored the tree, and the patch of ferns.
