Meskipun dalam kepayahan untuk bergerak, Zainuddin Abd. Rahman, 87, merasakan yang sesuatu perlu dilakukannya bagi membantu akhbar berbahasa Melayu tertua di Malaysia itu agar terus 'hidup' sekali gus tidak ditutup ekoran masalah kewangan yang dihadapi.
"Saya membaca akhbar Utusan sejak kecil, sejak saya pandai membaca dan kini usia pun sudah 87 tahun. Apa yang berlaku kepada Utusan dan pekerjanya membuatkan saya simpati dengan mereka. Menurut Zainuddin, syarikat penerbitan Utusan Malaysia, Utusan Melayu Berhad itu perlu terus berjuang dan tidak sesekali mengalah dengan cabaran semasa kerana di tangan akhbar itulah yang akan membina semula kekuatan orang Melayu.
"Utusan Melayu jangan takut, terus melawan dan berjuang. Bagi pekerja pula, jangan patah semangat sebaliknya terus bekerja untuk memajukan lagi orang Melayu.
