Terbaru, muncul pula desas-desus berkenaan pemakaian “health tag” yang dikatakan mampu melindungi diri seseorang daripada dijangkiti virus Covid-19. Gas yang dilepaskan itu dikatakan boleh membunuh bakteria dan juga virus dalam jarak lingkungan 1 kilometer selama 45 hari. Kajian tersebut bertajuk, “Investigation on Practical Usefulness of Body-worn Devices that Claim to Release Chlorine Dioxide.”
Di Hong Kong, health tag berjenama “Virus Shut Out” dijual secara berleluasa walaupun penjualannya telah dilarang di kebanyakan negara-negara Asia.Begitu juga dengan platform online seperti eBay dan juga Facebook. Beliau menegaskan bahawa produk health tag seperti “Virus Shut Out” ini langsung tidak berguna dalam melindungi diri daripada jangkitan COVID-19.Baru-baru ini, pihak U.S. Environmental Protection Agency mengumumkan larangan kemasukan produk kesihatan haram, “Virus Shut Out”, ke Amerika Syarikat.
