KOTA KINABALU: Kawalan keselamatan di perairan Sabah akan terus diperkukuhkan dengan beroperasinya satu lagi kapal pesisir pantai baharu yang akan ditauliahkan pada 28 Januari ini.
“Justeru, TLDM kini boleh melaksanakan sepenuhnya perancangan mereka menerusi LMS ini khususnya di bawah Program Transformasi 15 to 5 bagi mengukuhkan lagi kawalan keselamatan di perairan negara. Beliau berkata, misi utama skuadron kapal ini adalah bagi menangkis ancaman asimetri, pengawasan kawasan operasi, rondaan Zon Ekonomi Eksklusif , tugas-tugas sokongan kepada Gerakan Ketenteraan Selain Daripada Perang serta sebagai platform sokongan kepada tugasan dalam keadaan aman, konflik mahupun perang.
Mengulas lanjut katanya, Angkatan Tentera Malaysia bekerjasama rapat dengan agensi negeri menerusi Operasi Murni bagi meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan menghadapi kemungkinan banjir sekali lagi.
