Pengarah JKDM Sarawak Datuk Sharifah Halimah Tuanku Taha berkata, penahanannya dibuat pada 12.45 tengah hari hasil imbasan terhadap bagasi seorang lelaki yang baharu tiba dari Johor Bahru menggunakan penerbangan domestik.
"Hasil imbasan menunjukkan imej yang mencurigakan dan pemeriksaan rapi terhadap bagasi yang dilakukan oleh pegawai kastam membawa kepada penemuan 10 bungkusan mengandungi dadah methamphetamine. "Bungkusan itu juga didapati dibaluti dengan 'aluminium foil' dipercayai bagi mengelirukan pegawai bertugas," katanya dalam satu kenyataan hari ini.
Sehubungan itu, beliau berkata, suspek yang merupakan warga tempatan berusia lewat 30-an ditahan dan kini ditahan reman selama tujuh hari untuk membantu siasatan. Katanya, sabit kesalahan boleh dikenakan hukuman gantung sampai mati mengikut Seksyen 39B Akta Dadah Berbahaya 1952.
