Dalam laporan The Indian Express, beliau berkata India juga meminta ekstradisi Naik dari Malaysia pada Januari.Naik yang dikehendaki di India untuk disoal siasat, diberikan status penduduk tetap di Malaysia oleh kerajaan Barisan Nasional sebelum ini. Beliau kemudiannya meminta maaf atas salah faham yang timbul, tetapi mendakwa kenyataannya itu dipetik diluar konteks.
