PETALING JAYA: Singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao continues to run out of luck.

The 21-year-old Jun Hao may be ranked third based on the recent national ranking but he will not get to compete in the much-awaited Open tournaments in Thailand in January because of his low standing in the world ranking.

And towards the end of the year, he raised the standard of his game by making it to the semi-finals of the Malaysian International Challenge in November and finishing runner-up at the Bangladesh International Challenge in December. “I was getting my form and rhythm early this year but all tournaments were halted because of Covid-19, now my world ranking is stuck, ” lamented world No. 157 Jun Hao.
