NSTnation Journalist pleads not guilty to making disruptive statements on coronavirus

Wan Noor hayati Wan Alias, 40, was charged with consciously making the statements via her Facebook account under the name of ‘Ibu Yati’ with the intention to cause public fear.The charges were framed under Section 505 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail term of two years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

Nurilya Ellyna Nor Azmal prosecuted the case while the accused was not represented. The court then allowed RM12,000 bail in one surety and set March 11 for re-mention of the case.
