THE practice of sharing and celebrating all festivals regardless of race and religion is the uniqueness of the people in this country which needs to be upheld, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

.Like the celebration of the Moon Cake Festival also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, he said, although celebrated by the Chinese community it is also celebrated by all walks of life in Sabah. “The practice of sharing cultures through festivals by all races such as the fasting month, Chinese New Year, Kaamatan, Deepavali and Christmas is our uniqueness in Sabah that must be maintained in line with the concept of Malaysian Family.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said the State Government continues to provide support to people of various races and religions so that each may continue to celebrate their respective cultural festivals.He said this spirit must be maintained so that the people continue to be united regardless of differences as a Malaysian Family. “We live in a society of various races, religions and cultures. It’s not new, in fact we respect each other. This is the strength and uniqueness of Sabah.
