ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor wants to play a significant role in the effort to reopen the border with Singapore, says Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni MohammadHe described the reopening of the Johor-Singapore border as a key component in the recovery of Johor’s economy.

“It will also revitalise the real estate sector, especially when the Federal Government resumes the Malaysia My Second Home programme. “State representatives should be included in the committee or secretariat that is carrying out this important initiative,” he said in his winding-up speech at the state assembly which ended its six-day meeting yesterday.

“We hope that movement across the border can be activated soon with a suitable SOP in place. If the pandemic is brought under control, we may also be able to discuss implementing the Reciprocal Green Lane , Periodic Commuting Arrangement and possibly Daily Commuting Arrangement or a travel bubble through this special committee,” he said.
