The previous Umno-led government had a simple majority of 28 seats against Pakatan Harapan’s 27, with one seat left vacant after the passing of Kempas assemblyman and former mentri besar Datuk Osman Sapian on Dec 21. The now-dissolved state government comprised Umno , MIC , PAS and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia , while the opposition comprises DAP , Amanah and PKR .
