JOHOR BARU: The 18 families in Taman Johor Jaya, whose homes were damaged in a storm will be moved to temporary housing.

The roofs of their homes at Flat Ros Merah were blown away by strong wind and they would be temporarily housed at the People’s Housing Project , Pelangi Indah, Ulu Tiram.

"The cleanup and repair works have started today and 18 of the 36 families have agreed to be moved from the temporary relief shelter at Dewan Serbaguna Taman Johor Jaya to PPR Pelangi Indah.Mohd Jafni added that the victims would be moved into an empty unit at the PPR, which is located about 5km away from the current PPS, to give them a proper place to stay.

"We have offered the remaining other victims but they prefer to stay at their other family members' homes,” he said, adding that each family member was also given RM2,500 one-off financial aid.
