ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Fire and Rescue Department caught a 3m python after it made its way into a toilet bowl in a house at Taman Dato Syed Idris here.

Iskandar Puteri Fire Station chief Khairi Zainudin said the department received a distress call at 5.11pm on Monday and deployed seven personnel with one fire engine to the location.

“The python is successfully caught using a snake pole and has since been released far away from the housing area. “Snakes usually come out during this hot season to search for a cool and wet place,” he said in a statement. In a similar case, the Skudai Fire and Rescue Department caught a 3m cobra under a staircase at Kolej Taman Putra in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Skudai campus here.

Skudai Fire station chief Riduan Akhyar said the department received a distress call at 7.38pm and deployed 10 personnel with one fire truck and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services van to the location.
