JOHOR BARU: The Customs Department here seized contraband worth more than RM135,000 in two separate operations.

State Customs director Mohammad Hamiddan Maryani said in the first case, a foreign-registered vessel was detained during a joint operation with the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency within Tanjung Penyusop waters at around 2.45pm on Sept 16.

Mohammad Hamiddan said the ship's 10 Indonesian crewmen, aged between 22 and 50, were detained while the vessel and liquor had been seized as part of investigations.
