The Malaysian Under-17 team were humbled 0-4 by Yemen in their opening Group A match of the AFC Under-17 Asian Cup at the Thammasat Stadium in Bangkok yesterday.
Yemen got the first goal through their youngest player on the pitch, 14-year-old Abdulrahman Al-Khadher, who finished off a pass from their captain Essam Radman in the 21st minute. At the start of the second-half, Yemen won a penalty and Anwar Al-Turiqi obliged by burying from the spot to give Yemen a healthy 3-0 lead.
